Older pictures of Persephone getting her teeth brushed.
Hello,
Sorry for seriously lacking on content. My job situation turned on me so money funds are pretty much non existent, my arm being injured limits my abilities, and I’m kind of stuck as I am having problems locating a block to switch out my 429 motor for the hearse. The heads have been rebuilt, new gasket kit and no compression, the rest of the motor is rough so I have hit a wall.
Augh.
Wünderbar! We’re friends online in the places that matter. Haha And thank you! I would like an older one, aswell… But exactly… she will do for now! I’m really stoked for her to come together, as well. Thank you. ^__^
While this 1964 Cadillac is my first professional car to own, I was buying a different one when I found her. This is a 1951 Cadillac three-way hearse. It was only short a radiator and a tune up to drive. The fat fendered look of this Cadillac fit my preferences more when it came to non professional cars, but the 1964 body type is much closer to a 1959, my dream year so it all worked out.
I earned a little backstory when I went to go buy this:
This was a hunting vehicle for two war buddies back in the day. (That’s where the luggage rack came in.) They drove it across the county to the wilderness for a couple weeks, every single year. I can only imagine the good times centered around this hearse. Almost twenty years of long road trips, great conversations, camping, hunting fishing, far away from the stress of their lives. Well, sometime in the 70’s one of them died, and the other friend couldn’t bear to leave without his best friend. So the hearse sat until the 90’s until it was revived a couple of owners ago and has been the center of parties, camping trips, and attended car shows before the radiator gave out and it went back to sitting once more.
I was starting up a contract to start payments on this car when things with the seller didn’t work out. I was rather discouraged as it seems EVERY classic car I have ever tried to buy was bought before I could arrive to the seller to pay(As I was on the way, it has happened a couple times), or the seller flakes, stops responding.. etc since I was about fourteen years old.
Luckily Persephone was listed on Craigslist around the same time for the same price and I snagged her as soon as I could. Just found these old pictures on my phone and thought that I would share. It is still there.. I really hope that someone brings that beauty back sometime.

Hello!
Thanks so much for all of the love. That’s awesome to hear, you should definitely get one, someday! Ah, it took me a while to save up for mine so I feel you there about the cash. It’s worth the wait and the money to save up and get a really rad one down the road.
Owning a hearse was a life long dream of mine, too. My dream car is a 1959 Cadillac Crown Superior, so scoring one 5 years off isn’t too shabby! :) Thanks for the thought of assisting! Luckily, I have my club to help me out a bit, but it’s really rewarding working on her myself. She is a little beat up, but I couldn’t love her more. Thank you so much!

Hello,
Ah, that Packard is beautiful whether or not you consider the use, just classic beauty, right there.
Thanks for the story, that’s awesome(I like the name.) I love hearing stuff like that! It makes sense that people use them for band gear… I love seeing older pictures of bands or surfers using them. That space has plenty of uses if you can get past the original purpose. :)
Thank you so much for stopping by and for the kinds words! I absolutely love your blog, too!
